Cyprus holds parliamentary elections to elect 56 new members

On May 24, 2026, voters in Cyprus went to the polls to elect 56 members to the House of Representatives. A total of 753 candidates from 19 political groups participated in the elections. By 3:00 p.m., voter turnout reached 49.8%, reflecting a 4.7 percentage point increase compared to the 2021 legislative elections. Voting concluded at 6:00 p.m., with exit polls released immediately thereafter. According to the Chief Returning Officer Elikkos Ilias, initial results regarding the percentage of votes for each party are expected between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The identification of individual elected representatives is anticipated between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. on Monday.
