Cyprus parliamentary elections 2026 results
On May 24, 2026, parliamentary elections were held in Cyprus to elect 56 members to the House of Representatives. By the time 90% of the votes were counted, results showed four established parties—DISY, AKEL, DIKO, and ELAM—along with two new political entities, Alma and Amesi Dimokratia, entering the parliament. Seat distribution reflects DISY with 17 seats, AKEL with 15, DIKO and ELAM with 8 each, and both Alma and Amesi Dimokratia with 4 seats each. EDEK, DIPA, and the Ecologists failed to secure any seats based on current data, marking a significant change from the previous composition where those parties held 4, 4, and 3 seats respectively. General Election Commissioner Elikkos Ilias stated that final vote tallies were expected by early Monday morning, following a smooth voting process despite isolated incidents. Voter turnout reached 49.8% by 3:00 PM, representing a 4.7 percentage point increase compared to the 2021 elections. The official seat distribution remains subject to final confirmation.
