Police arrest 36-year-old following major cocaine seizure in Larnaca
Officers from the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) arrested a 36-year-old man in Larnaca after a targeted operation. During searches of the suspect's home and vehicle, police discovered approximately 3.2 kilograms of cocaine, 4,000 euros in cash, and a precision scale. In addition to narcotics, authorities seized a hunting rifle, 24 bird-catching sticks (xoverga), 8 flares, and several fireworks. The suspect's home also contained two unregistered motorcycles and a vehicle, which were taken into evidence. Police reported that the drugs were concealed within a concrete bench and the property, requiring methodical search efforts. The suspect has been remanded in custody and is being questioned, while YKAN and the Kofinou Police Station continue the investigation to identify potential accomplices and the supplier. According to the YKAN commander, the seizure removed approximately 3,500 doses of cocaine from the local market.
