Cyprus Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission presents 2024-2025 progress report

The Cyprus Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission (CGCA) held a press conference to outline its institutional achievements for 2024-2025. During the event, CGCA Chairman Pieris Chourides highlighted improvements in transparency, supervision, and international institutional development over the past two years. Cyprus has been selected to host the annual Gaming Regulators European Forum (GREF) conference, which officials view as international recognition of its regulatory progress. The commission launched the 'Take Control' national awareness campaign to promote responsible gambling. Furthermore, the commission introduced the Metron funding programme, designed to support evidence-based interventions for gambling addiction prevention. Executive director Charis Tsangarides emphasized the body’s focus on robust player protection and anti-money laundering controls. Representatives from the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, led by the office of Minister Costas Koumis, attended the event. The government reiterated that effective casino regulation is essential for maintaining the country's status as a quality tourism and investment destination.
