23-year-old man hospitalized following stabbing in Polemidia, Limassol
On Tuesday, June 9, a 23-year-old Greek Cypriot man was found with abdominal injuries caused by a sharp object in an open area in the Polemidia region of Limassol. Police were alerted to the incident around 14:30. The victim was transported to a hospital by ambulance and immediately underwent surgery; he is currently reported to be in serious condition. One witness reported observing an altercation between two people involving physical pushing before the victim was found crying for help. The suspect was seen fleeing the scene shortly thereafter. Police have cordoned off the area and are conducting a thorough investigation, which includes searching for closed-circuit surveillance footage to identify the perpetrator. While most reports identify the victim as 23 years old, one source mentions a 36-year-old individual, though this appears to be a discrepancy in initial reporting. The investigation is being led by the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department.
