Water supply interruptions announced across Larnaca and Nicosia districts

District authorities in Cyprus have announced multiple water supply interruptions due to technical issues and maintenance work. In the Nicosia district, a malfunction in the Water Development Department's system caused a temporary stoppage of water intake to the reservoirs of Mathiatis and Lythrodontas. Repairs are currently underway, with restoration expected by the end of June 9, 2026. Additionally, the Nicosia District Self-Government Organization (EOA) announced scheduled cleaning of reservoirs in Deneia and Meniko on June 9, which may result in temporary outages. Separately, in the Larnaca district, a water outage is scheduled for Wednesday for parts of Pano Lefkara between 07:00 and 15:00. This interruption is due to planned infrastructure works for road paving. Residents in affected areas are advised to use stored water carefully until service is restored.
