Aydin Cavusoglu passes away following gunshot incident
Aydin Cavusoglu, the 52-year-old brother of former Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Alanyaspor president Hasan Cavusoglu, died on May 17 following a shooting incident. He was initially discovered with a gunshot wound in his office in Antalya on May 5. Following the incident, he was hospitalized in critical condition and underwent surgery but remained in intensive care until his death. Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, confirmed the death via social media, extending condolences to the family. Mevlut Cavusoglu reportedly returned to Antalya from abroad upon hearing of the initial injury. The Turkish authorities have not yet released official details regarding the circumstances of the shooting, and an investigation remains ongoing. The funeral is scheduled for May 18 at 14:00 at the Turkler Central Cemetery.
