Cypriot athletes perform in European and international shooting competitions

Cypriot athletes achieved significant results in two separate shooting events. At the European Trap-Skeet Championship under-18 in Osijek, Croatia, Cyprus finished with a collection of medals including golds, silvers, and bronzes, though reports vary on the exact final tally due to conflicting accounts of individual and team performances. Key medalists included Andreas Germanos, Sotiroula Christou, Andreas Michail, and Chara Meli. Separately, at the International Compak Grand Prix held on May 16-17 in Malakasa, Greece, Greek athlete Theofanis Stamou took first place, with Cypriot shooters Leukios Miltiadous, Andreas Klangidis, and Petros Ioannou filling the subsequent top positions after a shootout. In the seniors' category of the Malakasa event, Greek shooters dominated the podium, while in the veterans' category, Kostas Konstantinou and Mikis Phylaktou of Cyprus secured first and second place respectively.
