Two aircraft collide during Gunfighter Skies air show in Idaho

On Sunday, a mid-air collision involving two aircraft occurred at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho during the Gunfighter Skies air show. The incident led to the immediate grounding and lockdown of the base as emergency response teams were deployed to the scene. According to reports from the Idaho Statesman and base officials, a investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the crash. Spectator footage shared with KTVB shows the collision occurring in mid-air, followed by the visible deployment of four parachutes. An event announcer informed the crowd that all four crew members successfully ejected from the aircraft. While initial social media reports suggested the involved aircraft were U.S. Navy Super Hornets or Growlers, official military confirmation regarding the specific models remains pending.
