Cyprus parliamentary elections of May 24, 2026 results
On May 24, 2026, Cyprus held parliamentary elections with a voter turnout of 66.91%, compared to 63.9% in 2021. Out of 569,182 registered voters, 380,851 cast ballots, resulting in 372,063 valid votes. DISY secured 27.1% and 17 seats, AKEL took 23.9% with 15 seats, ELAM achieved 10.9% with 8 seats, and DIKO received 10% with 8 seats. The new parties Alma and Direct Democracy both gained parliamentary representation with four seats each. Seat allocations for some districts, such as Paphos and Famagusta, involved close contests and administrative adjustments due to the electoral system. Specifically, Zacharias Koulias retained his Famagusta seat by a narrow margin of 67 votes. President Nikos Christodoulides congratulated the candidates and emphasized government stability.
