Cyprus parliamentary elections to be held on May 24, 2026

On May 24, 2026, Cyprus will hold parliamentary elections to elect 56 members of the House of Representatives from 752 candidates. A total of 569,182 registered voters are eligible to cast their ballots, marking an increase of 11,081 compared to the 2021 elections. Voting will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a mandatory one-hour break at noon, though presiding officers may extend hours until midnight if queues exist. Polling stations are set up in Cyprus and at 13 locations abroad, including Athens, Thessaloniki, London, and Brussels. The electoral process prohibits the use of mobile phones within stations, as well as the distribution of flyers or display of political slogans during the Saturday and Sunday of the election weekend. Penalties for violating these regulations include up to one year of imprisonment or a fine of up to €5,000. For the first time, voters can use a digital identity card via the 'Psifiakos Politis' app for identification. Election results will be officially announced on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre.
