Power outages reported in Nicosia and Limassol districts

On Monday, May 18, various areas in the Nicosia and Limassol districts experienced power outages. According to reports, the disruption began between 08:00 and 08:30 AM due to a technical fault. The affected locations in Nicosia include Kokkinotrimithia, Aglantzia, and Strovolos, while the village of Vouni was affected in the Limassol district. The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) issued varying estimates for the restoration of service. For the Nicosia district, the EAC anticipated power to be restored between 10:00 and 11:30 AM. Regarding the fault in Vouni, the restoration time remained unknown at the time of the reports. The exact scale of the technical failure has not been disclosed. Authorities continue to work on resolving the issues in the impacted areas.
