Valentin Roberge retires from professional football after AEK Larnaca departure
AEK Larnaca spokesperson Kyriakos Dimitriou confirmed that defender Valentin Roberge has decided to retire from professional football following his departure from the club. Roberge, who previously played for Apollon Limassol and the Cyprus national team, concluded his tenure after over 100 appearances in the Cypriot league. Alongside Roberge, team captain Angel Garcia is also departing AEK after having recorded over 150 appearances for the club. Dimitriou noted that while discussions about future roles for the departing players are currently premature, the possibility has not been ruled out. Technical director Xavi Roca has officially begun work on the team's planning for the upcoming season. The club intends to make several announcements regarding squad changes and new signings following the conclusion of the final match of the season. The head coach remains under contract, and further departures are expected as part of the team's restructuring process.
