ALS Omonoia 29M secures third place in Allwyn men's handball championship

On May 17, ALS Omonoia 29M secured third place in the Allwyn Men's Handball Championship after defeating European University 25-22 in an away match. This victory brought the series score to 5-3 in favor of Omonoia. During the match, Stathis Kesidis scored ten goals for the winners, while Anastasios Ioannou scored seven for European University. The hosts led the first half 10-9, but Omonoia managed a comeback in the second half. This result guarantees the team a spot in the 2026-27 EHF Cup. The club, which created its handball department in October 2024, achieved this finish in its first year in the top division under coach Marios Trimithiotes. The team previously achieved an undefeated season in the second division during 2024-25, winning both the league and the cup.
