Construction material price index rose in April 2026
The Statistical Service reported that the Construction Material Price Index reached 120.67 points in April 2026, using 2021 as the base year. This figure represents a 1.38% increase compared to April 2025. On a monthly basis, the index rose by 0.64% compared to March 2026. For the cumulative period of January to April 2026, the index showed a 1.00% increase over the same period in 2025. Price hikes were recorded across several categories, including electromechanical goods at 2.29%, metal products at 1.81%, and wood, insulation, chemical, and plastic products at 1.76%. Additionally, mineral products rose by 1.59%, while other mineral-based products saw a minor increase of 0.06%. These data points reflect the current inflationary pressures within the construction sector in Cyprus.
