Iraq denies claims of drone attacks launched against Saudi Arabia
On Sunday night, Saudi Arabian officials reported the interception and destruction of three drones that allegedly entered the country's airspace from Iraq. The Saudi Ministry of Defense stated it reserves the right to respond to these violations. In response, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today that their air defense systems did not detect any drones launched from Iraqi territory. Iraq has launched an investigation into the incident and requested that Saudi Arabia share relevant data to ensure regional stability. While no group has claimed responsibility, tensions remain high as regional countries, including the UAE, have previously faced similar drone threats. Iraq has reiterated its official policy of not allowing its territory to be used for attacks against neighboring nations. Previous diplomatic pressure has been exerted on Baghdad by several Arab states to curb attacks originating from within its borders.
