Drug enforcement operations conducted in Limassol and Nicosia

YKAN (Drug Law Enforcement Unit) officials in Limassol arrested two local men, aged 25 and 26, after seizing approximately 2.805 kilograms of cannabis in several locations. The 25-year-old was observed dropping bags in open areas, leading to the discovery of 2.13 kilograms, followed by the finding of 29 grams in his vehicle and 646 grams at the home of the 26-year-old. Separately, in Nicosia, authorities arrested two men, aged between 19 and 23, following a raid on a residence where a handgun, ammunition, 100 anabolic tablets, 12 ecstasy tablets, and 10 grams of cannabis were found. The Nicosia suspects were arrested in connection with a prior warrant regarding 230 grams of cannabis and 40 ecstasy tablets. Meanwhile, the Limassol Criminal Court issued prison sentences to three other individuals, aged 23, 25, and 27, for trafficking and possession of large quantities of drugs, including over 20 kilograms of cannabis and nine kilograms of HHC-laced products. The 23-year-old received a seven-year sentence, the 25-year-old received seven years, and the 27-year-old received a three-month sentence. All investigations remain ongoing by the respective YKAN branches.
