Drug trafficking arrests in Nicosia and Limassol

In Nicosia, a 31-year-old man was arrested following a police operation where cannabis, cocaine, and ecstasy were discovered in his vehicle and residence. He appeared before the Nicosia District Court for a detention order. In a separate operation in Limassol, two men aged 25 and 26 were arrested for alleged involvement in drug distribution. Police surveillance observed the 25-year-old depositing approximately 2.13 kilograms of cannabis in open areas near the Kouris dam. Subsequent searches of his vehicle yielded 29 grams of cannabis, while searches near the 26-year-old's home uncovered an additional 646 grams of cannabis in his yard and storage area. The total weight of the seized cannabis in Limassol reached 2.805 kilograms. On May 22, the Limassol District Court ordered both men to be detained for seven days. Investigations by the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) are ongoing in both districts.
