Cyprus national volleyball teams compete at the MEVZA Senior Championship

The Cyprus men's and women's national volleyball teams are participating in the MEVZA Senior Championship held in Hungary and Slovenia respectively. Following three match days, the men's team, coached by Louis Loizou, has recorded one win against Croatia (3-2) and two losses against Hungary (3-1) and Austria (3-2) in Fonyod. Nikolas Eleftheriou has been a standout performer for the men, scoring 27 points in the latest match against Austria. Meanwhile, the women's team, led by Stelios Masias, has faced three losses in Maribor, falling to Hungary, Croatia (3-0), and Austria (3-1). Despite the results, the women's team secured their first set of the tournament in their match against Austria. Both squads are scheduled to play their final tournament match against Luxembourg on Sunday, May 24. These matches serve as competitive tests for the Cypriot national programs on the international stage.
