Cypriot authorities freeze €3.175 million in assets linked to Mikhail Yurevich

The Nicosia District Court has issued an order freezing real estate assets valued at €3.175 million linked to former Russian politician and businessman Mikhail Yurevich. The assets include a €2.62 million apartment in the ONE tower complex in Mesa Geitonia, registered to the 57-year-old, and a €555,000 apartment in the Park Residence, Yermasoyia, linked to his father, Valeri Yurevich. The action was initiated by the Unit for Combating Money Laundering (MOKAS) following allegations of a €35 million bribery case in Russia. Yurevich, who served as the governor of the Chelyabinsk Oblast from 2010 to 2014, is currently subject to an international arrest warrant. He obtained Cypriot citizenship in September 2016 through the now-defunct 'Investment Programme'. An investigative committee led by Myron Nikolatos found that Yurevich may have made false declarations, as records indicated he had not traveled to Cyprus since 2001. The court order was publicized due to authorities' inability to locate the individuals for service of process.
