Emergency services to conduct drill at Labs Tower in Nicosia

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, the Cyprus Fire Service and Police will conduct a large-scale emergency readiness drill at the Labs Tower building in Nicosia. The exercise is scheduled to take place between 10:00 and 11:00. Operations will include a full evacuation of the building and a simulated rescue of injured individuals. To facilitate the drill, the surrounding streets, specifically Fotis Pitta and Mykinon, will be closed to traffic. Specially equipped vehicles and emergency personnel will be mobilized throughout the area during this time. The Fire Service has advised the public not to be concerned by the increased activity. According to the building's management, the exercise aims to modernize emergency response systems and strengthen cooperation between private sector entities and security services. The drill is also framed as part of the facility’s corporate social responsibility program to ensure occupant safety.
