Anorthosis Famagusta management changes and stadium sponsorship update
On June 5, 2026, the Anorthosis Famagusta football club held an electoral general assembly, resulting in a leadership transition under a new administration led by Mr. Toumazis. A key decision approved by club members concerns the potential naming rights sponsorship for the Antonis Papadopoulos stadium. Deputy Chairman Savvas Koumis stated that this sponsorship deal, if finalized, would provide the club with 3 million euros over a three-year period, distributed as 1 million euros annually. While negotiations are ongoing and progressing well, officials clarified that the agreement is not yet concluded and remains subject to meeting specific conditions. The club faces an existing transfer ban, which forces the administration to focus on retaining the current squad and ensuring a high-quality selection for the new head coach. Efforts are underway to finalize the appointment of a manager with a two-year contract. Additionally, the club is currently planning its summer training camp, with Poland currently considered the most likely destination over Bulgaria.
