Cyprus climbs to 34th place in the 2026 global startup ecosystem index
Cyprus has moved up six positions to reach 34th place globally in the StartupBlink Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2026. The report, released on Tuesday, highlights an annual ecosystem growth of 62.7% and a total estimated valuation of USD 4.2 billion. This marks the third consecutive year that Cyprus has achieved the highest ranking climb worldwide. All four of the island's cities are now included in the global top 1,000, with Limassol reaching 191st place, becoming the first Cypriot city to enter the top 200. The country performed best in the Social and Leisure category, ranking 26th internationally, while specifically reaching 16th place in the gaming sub-category. The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) noted that Cyprus shows sustained momentum and significant potential for further integration into the European innovation landscape. The index classifies the country as the fastest-growing startup environment within the European Union.
