Former Brisbane doctor faces 148 charges of sexual assault and rape

Stellios “Stan” Theodoros, a 74-year-old former general practitioner based in Brisbane, Australia, has been charged with 148 counts of sexual assault and rape. The charges follow an extensive investigation by the Queensland Police, initiated in August 2025 under Operation Xray Cariyna. Authorities allege that between the early 2000s and 2015, the doctor assaulted 15 female patients aged between their late teens and 40 years old while working at a medical center in Tarragindi. Specifically, the suspect faces 94 charges of rape and 54 charges of sexual assault. Theodoros was employed at the Wellers Hill Medical Centre until his retirement in 2021 and was removed from his position as a company director last year. Detective Sergeant Denis Silk stated that the investigation remains open and appealed for further information from the public. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on June 23.
