University of Nicosia hosts seminar on immersive journalism technology
On May 14, 2026, the Department of Communication at the University of Nicosia held a seminar titled 'Reimagining Journalism Through Immersive Technology' at the UNESCO Amphitheatre. The event was supported by the EU-funded iStream project and brought together academics, students, and journalists. Presenters included Professor Nicholas Nicoli, Professor Harald Rau, Professor Soulla Louca, and Dr. Ioanna Georgia Eskiadi. Participants examined the role of technologies like VR, AR, XR, smart glasses, and artificial intelligence in modern storytelling.
