Fatal road collision in Larnaca

A 55-year-old Hungarian woman, Helga Tarcsai, a resident of the Larnaca district, died following a severe two-vehicle collision on the Meneou-Pervolia road. The incident occurred around 12:30 on May 22, 2026. A 26-year-old man was driving one vehicle toward Pervolia when he collided with the car driven by the 55-year-old woman, who had a 26-year-old passenger. The victim was trapped in her vehicle and required extraction by the Fire Service before being transported to Larnaca General Hospital in critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The other two individuals involved in the crash were not injured. The Kiti Police Station is currently investigating the circumstances of the collision. This event was separate from a traffic incident that occurred on the same day on the Nicosia-Larnaca highway near the Pera Chorio exit.
