Road accidents reported across Cyprus on May 22

On May 22, 2026, several road incidents occurred across Cyprus. A collision involving two vehicles on the Meneou-Pervolia road in the Larnaca district required fire service intervention to extract one person, who was then taken to Larnaca General Hospital. Separately, a collision on the Nicosia-Larnaca highway near the Pera Chorio exit caused a lane closure and traffic congestion. On the Limassol-Nicosia highway near Moni, another two-vehicle collision resulted in a right-lane closure, though no injuries were reported there. Additionally, in the early hours of Friday, a 19-year-old driver fled from a police check in Germasogeia, Limassol, leading to a pursuit. The driver crashed his vehicle, which overturned and ended up in a residential garden, resulting in his hospitalization with a broken collarbone. The 17-year-old passenger was also briefly hospitalized. The 19-year-old tested positive for drugs following the incident.
