Cyprus Writers Union to host 2025 Bicommunal Short Story Award ceremony

On May 27, 2026, at 19:30, the Cyprus Writers Union will hold an award ceremony for the 2025 Bicommunal Short Story Competition at the CyBC theater in Aglantzia. The event will also feature the presentation of the winning short story collection. Welcoming remarks will be delivered by Eleftherios Ploutarchou, President of the Cyprus Writers Union, and Cemay Onalt Muezzin, Co-chair of the Union of Cyprus Artists and Writers. Additional speeches will be given by Andreas Chrysanthou, Nesie Yasin, and Ahmet Yikik. Christos R. Tsiailis will read the rationale for the awards, followed by readings from the winning authors, Fatma Turkoglu and Christoforos Christoforou. Musician Giorgos Kalogirou will perform as part of the ceremony, which concludes with a reception. The competition and publication are sponsored by the Contemporary Culture Department of the Deputy Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cyprus.
