Developer claims bureaucratic delays in Trozena property project

An investor who purchased derelict houses in Trozena for a redevelopment project has publicly criticized Cypriot state authorities for significant administrative delays. During a press conference alongside the community leader of Arsos and representatives of neighboring areas, the developer reported that he submitted eleven applications for approvals three years ago. According to the investor, these applications have remained pending for over two years without response, resulting in an estimated 300,000 euros in lost interest. The businessman characterized the state bureaucracy as a black hole, alleging that officials only performed site inspections after the issue gained traction on social media. While government ministers have publicly promoted investment incentive schemes, the developer claims the administrative machinery lacks cooperation and effective communication. The investor further stated that requests for guidance or progress updates were met with vague responses rather than actionable feedback.
