Cypriot researcher linked to Jeffrey Epstein-funded brain study

The Cyprus Investigative Reporting Network (CIReN) has reported on an international brain and consciousness research project involving institutions in Cyprus and London. The study has faced scrutiny due to its connection to funding associated with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Dr. Andreas Ioannidis, a Cypriot researcher, confirmed that he analyzed brain data for the project over a six-month period in 2016. Dr. Ioannidis stated that he was unaware of the project's funding origins at the time and did not know who Jeffrey Epstein was. Epstein was convicted in 2008 for procuring prostitution, including involving a minor, and was later arrested in 2019 on sex trafficking charges before dying in prison.
