Vandalism of political candidate posters in Limassol

In the lead-up to the parliamentary elections, several political posters for DISY candidates in Limassol have been vandalized by unknown individuals. Reports indicate that posters belonging to candidate George Karaiskakis were defaced with red paint, specifically targeting his face, the party logo, and his ballot number. Additionally, posters belonging to another DISY candidate, Lefteris Tsiakkirou, were reported vandalized at central locations in the city. In a separate incident involving Tsiakkirou, unknown persons removed posters that had been placed alongside those of other candidates. Evripidis Karaiskakis, the brother of George Karaiskakis, issued a public statement following the vandalism, declaring that such actions would not stop their campaign. Affected candidates have called upon the relevant authorities to investigate these recurring incidents. These acts of vandalism are part of a broader trend of damage to political campaign materials observed recently in the region.
