Nursery worker deported to Poland after conviction for child abuse

Roksana Lecka, a 23-year-old former nursery worker in London, has been deported to Poland after serving 14 months of an eight-year prison sentence. She was convicted of systematically abusing 21 infants and toddlers, including children as young as ten months old, during her employment at two London nurseries, including Twickenham Green Montessori. The defendant was initially charged with seven counts of child abuse which she admitted, while the court later found her guilty of 14 additional counts. During the proceedings, Lecka attributed her actions to being under the influence of cannabis, claiming she could not recall the events. Her early release and subsequent deportation occurred under the UK's Early-Removal Scheme, a government policy implemented in 2024 to address prison overcrowding. The UK Ministry of Justice confirmed the deportation, which took place in February 2026, following her September 2025 sentencing.
