Limassol participates in the HERIT ADAPT project conference in Athens

The Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP) participated in the final meeting of the European project HERIT ADAPT, part of the Interreg EURO-Med program, held in Athens on May 18-20, 2026. The conference presented results from nine pilot actions conducted by eight Mediterranean countries. These initiatives focused on protecting cultural heritage from climate change through innovative technologies. Key tools utilized include artificial intelligence, 3D modeling, extended reality (XR), and IoT systems for environmental monitoring. Discussions also explored the integration of circular economy principles into tourism development. The Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry also attended as an associated partner of the project. The project aims to establish new sustainable tourism models that leverage technology to preserve historical sites. The event highlighted potential strategies for applying these results across the Mediterranean region.
