Limassol to host European Maritime Day 2026
European Maritime Day 2026 is scheduled to take place in Limassol, Cyprus, on May 21 and 22. The event, hosted at the Carob Mill and adjacent venues in the historic centre, will focus on maritime affairs, the sustainable blue economy, and the protection of the marine environment. European Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans, Costas Kadis, and Deputy Minister of Shipping, Marina Hadjimanoli, highlighted the importance of cooperation among Eastern Mediterranean states. Commissioner Kadis announced that the event will review the progress of the Ocean Pact, which includes over 90 policy initiatives introduced last year. The conference is expected to achieve record attendance for the European maritime sector. The program will include high-level sessions, exhibitions, and workshops, with select sessions being livestreamed. Mayor of Limassol, Yiannis Armeftis, and other European officials are confirmed to participate in the gathering.
