Greek Eurovision artist Akylas discusses results and expectations
Greek singer Akylas, who represented the country in the 70th Eurovision Song Contest, placed 10th in the competition. On Thursday, May 21, he addressed the public in television interviews, following initial reports that he had postponed a scheduled appearance on the show 'Proian se eidon' due to illness or exhaustion. Akylas expressed that he felt a personal need to apologize to the public because the final result did not meet the high expectations set by betting odds, which had consistently placed him in the top three for five months. Despite his personal disappointment, he emphasized that he gave his maximum effort and felt proud of his performance. He noted that he was pleasantly surprised by the warm support he received from Greeks at the Vienna airport upon his departure. Regarding the conflicting reports on his television appearances, he confirmed that he needed time to recover his strength after the intense experience. Looking forward, the artist intends to focus on his upcoming music album. He concluded by reflecting on the journey from his beginnings to the major European stage.
