CySEC completes fifth cycle of school financial literacy lectures

The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) announced the conclusion of the fifth cycle of its financial literacy school lecture program. Held between March and May 2026, the initiative included 18 lectures delivered across all districts of Cyprus. These sessions engaged a total of 3,450 students from primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary education. The program was part of Global Money Week 2026, which took place from March 16 to March 22. CySEC chairman George Theocharides noted that interest in the program has grown annually, with students increasingly requesting the sessions themselves. The curriculum focused on daily financial management, online fraud prevention, and the 2026 theme of personal financial independence supported by the CySEC digital investor guide. The commission maintains that improving financial literacy among youth remains a core strategic priority.
