Neapolis University Pafos law school holds moot court trial

On Sunday, May 17, 2026, the School of Law at Neapolis University Pafos organized a moot criminal court trial at the Ammoxostos amphitheater. The event was part of the practical training curriculum for third and fourth-year students in the courses of Substantive Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure. The case addressed allegations of drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms, with the proceedings held before an appellate court. The initiative was coordinated by the Dean of the Law School, Dr. Giannis Bekas, and visiting lecturer Dr. Ioannis Gkountis. Students performed all roles of the criminal proceeding, including the bench, prosecution, defense, witnesses, and the defendant. Members of the academic community and legal professionals attended the event, providing feedback on the students' preparation and legal documentation. The university stated that such experiential learning activities are designed to bridge academic theory with professional legal practice.
