Poland seeks to ban Israeli minister Ben-Gvir following Gaza flotilla video
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced plans to declare Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir persona non grata. This decision follows the circulation of a video in which the minister appears to mock detained Gaza flotilla activists, who are shown handcuffed and kneeling. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has requested the Ministry of Interior to initiate a formal entry ban against Ben-Gvir. The Polish ministry also summoned the Israeli charge d'affaires in Warsaw to demand an apology regarding the activists' arrest and the minister's public behavior. Two Polish citizens were among the group of international activists detained by Israeli authorities. Polish officials confirmed that these citizens have since been released from custody and were traveling to the airport to depart for Istanbul. The Polish ministry cited the minister's behavior as the primary motivation for these diplomatic measures.
