APOEL president Haris Fotiou addresses financial situation and club debts

APOEL president Haris Fotiou discussed the club's financial crisis in an interview with Cablenet podcasters. Fotiou stated that the club currently holds 39 million euros in debt, with an additional 14 to 15 million euros required by May 2027 to cover projected deficits for the current and future seasons. Regarding legal challenges, he revealed that APOEL is currently facing eight cases at FIFA, two of which have resulted in transfer embargoes, with six more currently being contested. Since taking office on February 17, the board has successfully paid off four million euros in outstanding obligations. Fotiou acknowledged initial skepticism from fans due to the composition of the new board but noted that 500,000 euros have been raised through supporter platforms. He emphasized that the board's primary goal is to secure a permanent financial solution rather than maintaining long-term control. The club is also currently engaged in discussions with potential investors, governed by non-disclosure agreements.
