Cyprus begins logistical preparations for parliamentary elections

Authorities in Cyprus began the distribution of ballot boxes and essential election materials on Friday as part of the final preparations for Sunday's parliamentary elections. Chief returning officer Elikkos Ilias confirmed that the process, which involves preparing for the election of 56 members of parliament, is proceeding according to schedule. In Nicosia, equipment is being distributed from the International State Fair grounds at the Greek Pavilion. Similar operations are underway in other districts, with Paphos utilizing district administration offices and Limassol operating out of the First Primary School. Larnaca’s materials are being issued from the Kition sports centre, while the Famagusta district is coordinating through municipal offices. Officials stated that logistical arrangements will continue over the next 48 hours to ensure all polling stations are fully operational. Staff are currently focused on verifying and delivering sensitive voting documentation across all electoral districts. The process remains under strict oversight to ensure the integrity of the upcoming vote.
