Tsirio stadium considers reopening for local teams next season

The Tsirio stadium in Limassol is currently undergoing preparations to potentially host football matches for the upcoming season. Giorgos Zachariadis, spokesperson for the GSO (Limassol Gymnastic Association), confirmed that two local clubs, Karmiotissa and Ypsonas, have expressed formal interest in using the facility. The GSO is currently in negotiations with these clubs and is awaiting finalized contracts to confirm the arrangements. According to Zachariadis, the stadium is in good condition, and necessary administrative procedures to obtain operating permits are already underway. The management believes the venue can be fully ready by August. Furthermore, infrastructure improvements and maintenance works are being conducted to support both the upcoming football usage and a scheduled international track and field meeting. Decisions regarding seating capacity are pending application to the relevant authorities, though stadium officials believe there will be no significant obstacles.
