Pep Guardiola to step down as Manchester City manager
Pep Guardiola will leave Manchester City at the end of the current season after a ten-year tenure that began in 2016. His final match as manager is scheduled for Sunday, May 24, against Aston Villa. During his time at the club, Guardiola won 20 trophies, including six Premier League titles, a Champions League, three FA Cups, five League Cups, and the FIFA Club World Cup. Following his departure, he will transition into a role as Global Ambassador for the City Football Group, where he will provide technical advice and participate in international projects. Manchester City announced that they will honor his contribution by building a statue in his image and naming a portion of the Etihad Stadium stand after him. Enzo Maresca is slated to succeed him as the club's new manager. Other notable figures, such as Hansi Flick and Thomas Tuchel, have publicly commended his historic impact on English and world football.
