CyBC board reviews progress during 2024-2026 tenure
The Board of Directors of the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC), led by Chairman Stavros Georgiadis, presented a performance report for the period from February 2024 to May 2026. A primary achievement noted was the final resolution of a long-standing pension issue in March 2025, which was settled following negotiations with trade unions, ministries, and the General Treasury. The board successfully oversaw the reactivation and institutional restoration of the pension fund. Internally, the organization focused on structural modernization and the implementation of a new organizational chart. In terms of public output, the corporation reported increased viewership for news broadcasts and sports events, including the Europa and Conference League matches. Efforts to enhance the organization's digital presence were also highlighted. Looking forward to the end of the board's tenure in August 2026, officials confirmed ongoing work on new building facilities. Preparations are also underway for the corporation's coverage of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event was attended by the Minister of the Interior and former board chair Giorgos Kentas.
