EDEK Aradippou accuses former members of illegal campaigning

The electoral staff of EDEK in Aradippou has announced it will file a formal complaint with the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection. The party alleges that former EDEK members have been contacting current party members via telephone to exert pressure to vote for Andreas Apostolou of the DIKO party. According to EDEK, these actions occurred shortly before the official end of the pre-election period. Andreas Apostolou was originally elected as a Member of Parliament representing EDEK in 2021. He left the party in August 2025 to join DIKO. EDEK officials described these phone calls as both illegal and unethical. The party leadership has called on its members to ignore these efforts and support the official EDEK ticket in the upcoming Sunday election.
