Subsidy program for pensioner vacations in mountain resorts and Pyrgos Tyllirias announced

The Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance of Cyprus has announced a holiday subsidy program for low-income pensioners, approved by the Council of Ministers on May 13, 2026. Applications for the program open on May 25, 2026. The subsidy covers a four-day stay with full board in mountain resorts and the Pyrgos Tyllirias area. Eligible periods for vacations are from June 5 to July 31, 2026, and from September 1 to October 30, 2026. Stays are structured in 4-day intervals (3 nights), either from Friday to Monday or Tuesday to Friday. Beneficiaries include recipients of the low-income pensioner grant, the Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI), or individuals with an annual income of up to €15,500 for single persons and €20,000 for families, including their dependents. Priority will be based on the application date. During the first week of applications (May 25–31, 2026), priority is given to those who did not participate in 2025, as well as former prisoners of war and civilians.
