Neapolis University Pafos signs cooperation agreement with Cyprus Red Cross

On Monday, May 18, Neapolis University Pafos signed a cooperation protocol with the Cyprus Red Cross and its Paphos branch. The agreement aims to strengthen links between the academic community and civil society, fostering social cohesion within the framework of the EMERGE European University Alliance. The signing took place during an event organized by EMERGE Work Package 2, coordinated by Community Engagement Officer Dr. Katerina Papazacharia. Partners in the event included the university's Human Rights Observatory, the UNESCO Chair, and the Jean Monnet Chair. The initiative involves contributions from the Human Rights Observatory led by Dr. Eleni Gavriil and the UNESCO/Jean Monnet chairs directed by Associate Professor Giorgos Pavlidis. Associate Professor Janka Táborecká from Matej Bel University in Slovakia also attended, highlighting the international scope of the project. University Rector Professor Pantelis Sklias stated that the partnership provides students and staff with opportunities for volunteering, research, and intercultural cooperation. The collaboration is intended to serve as a platform for social responsibility and active participation in societal challenges.
