Akel general secretary Stefanos Stefanou casts vote and outlines party platform
On Sunday, Akel General Secretary Stefanos Stefanou cast his vote at the 1st Primary School of Yeri. After voting, he emphasized that citizens should participate in the electoral process as a matter of responsibility regarding the future of Cyprus. Stefanou highlighted several key issues for his party, including the cost of living, social inequalities, and the need for a solution to the Cyprus problem that secures liberation and reunification. He particularly addressed the challenges facing young people in Cyprus, labeling them as among the most stressed in Europe. Prior to the election, Stefanou campaigned on a platform promising legislative initiatives to address housing rights, fair employment, and pension dignity. He also urged unity against the far-right and reiterated the party's commitment to defending the interests of the majority against vested interests. Stefanou concluded his remarks by meeting with polling station staff to oversee the procedures.
