75-year-old Scottish tourist dies after accident in Paphos hotel car park

A 75-year-old tourist from Scotland, identified as Margery Balfour, died following a fatal accident in a hotel car park in Paphos on Friday afternoon. Police reports state that around 1:50 p.m., a 56-year-old driver was exiting the parking area when he paused to allow the woman to walk past his vehicle. According to investigators, Balfour lost her balance and fell to the ground. The driver, unaware of her fall, moved the car forward, striking the woman in the back with a wheel. Emergency services transported her to Paphos General Hospital, where she underwent surgery but later succumbed to her injuries. The driver was arrested under a judicial warrant to facilitate the ongoing investigation. Authorities confirmed that the driver tested negative for both alcohol and narcotics.
