Suspect injured by police during incident in Mikrolimano
During a routine check on Akti Dilaveri in Mikrolimano, a 42-year-old Albanian national identified by authorities as 'Titi' was shot and wounded by police. Officers from the Organized Crime Division reported that the man pointed a firearm at them, leading an officer to use their service weapon. The suspect, who has a history of prior convictions including homicide, narcotics, and a 2019 escape from the Petrou Ralli detention center, was transported to Attikon Hospital where he remains under guard in the ICU following head surgery. Authorities discovered three firearms and six grenades in his possession, requiring the intervention of an explosives disposal unit. A second individual who was present at the scene reportedly managed to escape before being detained. Police are currently investigating the suspect's background, noting that he has used multiple aliases and ages in the past. The area was cordoned off to facilitate the investigation and secure the explosives.
