50-year-old man arrested for theft of 800,000 euros in Limassol
A 50-year-old man was arrested and is currently being held in eight-day detention by the Limassol District Court. The suspect is under investigation for the theft of approximately 800,000 euros from a company in Limassol between 2016 and 2019, as well as for money laundering. He was located and apprehended in an unidentified foreign country following the issuance of a European Arrest Warrant. The individual was transferred to Cyprus, where he was formally arrested under a local judicial warrant. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (TAE) is currently conducting further examinations into the case. While most sources cite the theft amount as 800,000 euros, one report inconsistently mentioned the figure as nearly 1 million euros. The suspect remains in custody to facilitate the ongoing police investigation.
